Opportunities: Trades That Need Attention

Find expiring or in-the-money legs, plus idle cash and uncovered shares you can put to work.

Your weekly action list

The Opportunities screen turns your portfolio into a to-do list. It has two halves: trades that need attention, and capital you could put to work.

The Opportunities screen with an Open trades need attention panel and a Cash & uncovered holdings panel with Sell CSPs and Find calls actions

Open trades need attention

The left panel surfaces positions worth a look — for example legs that are expiring soon or now in the money and at risk of assignment or being called away. When nothing needs action, it says so, so you never have to hunt through tables to feel confident.

Tap Find a roll on a flagged leg to open a shortlist of roll destinations. Use the Conservative / Balanced / Aggressive chips to lean farther OTM, stay middle-ground, or include closer strikes and same-strike roll-outs. Each row shows strike and expiration transitions, push-out days, estimated credit or debit for your full contract count, and annualized yield. Open the full screener from the dialog when you want to browse more contracts.

Cash & uncovered holdings

The right panel finds capital sitting idle:

  • Unallocated cash — money that could back a new cash-secured put. Click Sell CSPs to jump to the screener.
  • Uncovered shares — 100-share lots you own but haven't written calls against. Each row shows your wheel-adjusted cost basis next to the shares so you can pick covered call strikes with your true per-share basis in view. Click Find calls on any holding to open the covered call screener for that ticker.

This is the bridge between tracking and trading: the tracker tells you what's idle, and the screener helps you find the next contract.

A simple weekly routine

  1. Clear anything in needs attention (roll, close, or let expire).
  2. Deploy unallocated cash into new CSPs if you have a thesis.
  3. Write covered calls on any uncovered lots to keep the wheel turning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a trade show up in 'needs attention'?

Open legs that are expiring soon or have moved in-the-money are flagged, because those are the positions where you may want to roll, close, or prepare for assignment.

What does Find a roll do?

It opens a popup of ranked roll candidates for that open covered call or cash-secured put. You can switch Conservative, Balanced, or Aggressive risk profiles, see estimated credit or debit for your contract count, then jump to the full screener if you want more choices.

What are 'uncovered shares'?

Full 100-share lots you own that don't have a covered call written against them. The Opportunities screen highlights them so you can generate extra premium by selling calls.
