Dividends: Received Cash and Upcoming Ex-Dates
Review broker-synced dividend income, portfolio yield, monthly past vs expected cash, by-symbol totals, and upcoming payments in Trade Tracker — plus a 30-day preview on the Dashboard.
What Dividends shows
Dividends is the dedicated Trade Tracker section for cash from stock dividends — separate from option premium on Overview and Performance.
Open it from the left sidebar. It works on broker-synced portfolios (and All Portfolios when a broker is connected). Manual-only accounts need a brokerage link first.
On the signed-in Dashboard, an Upcoming Dividends card also lists holdings with an ex-date (or payment date) in the next 30 days, with estimated cash — deep-linking into this section.
Cards, chart, and tables
- Summary cards show YTD received cash (with trend vs prior YTD), Portfolio yield (market-value-weighted dividend yield of current equity holdings), this month, all-time, and payment count.
- Past and expected charts monthly received bars from broker dividend payments and expected bars from current share counts plus next-dividend data. Use the time-range tabs (MTD through All) to zoom.
- Monthly Calendar lists cash by month (newest first).
- By symbol ranks payers with a table and pie share of total received.
- Upcoming lists next ex-dates and estimated amounts for holdings that look dividend-eligible.
Portfolio and date filters still apply where the API supports them.
A simple workflow
- Connect a brokerage and sync so dividend payments and share counts are current.
- Open Dividends to check YTD cash and Portfolio yield, then switch chart ranges if you want a longer history.
- Glance at the Dashboard Upcoming Dividends card for the next 30 days, or use Upcoming in this section for the full list.
- Use By symbol to see which tickers drive income before an ex-date week.
- Pair with Equity Holdings if you need share quantities, or the options screener dividend filters when shopping for new underlyings.
Signed-out visitors can explore a sample Dividends view in the guest demo.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Dividends empty for my manual portfolio?
Dividend history and expected cash come from broker sync. Connect a brokerage (or select a broker portfolio / All Portfolios with a connection) to load payments and upcoming ex-dates.
What is Portfolio yield?
Portfolio yield is the market-value-weighted dividend yield of your current equity holdings. Non-payers count as 0%. It uses each symbol's reported yield and share market value (or cost if price is missing).
What is the difference between received and expected?
Received is cash already paid into the account from broker dividend transactions. Expected estimates near-term cash from current share counts and next-dividend amount/date data — not a guarantee.
Where do upcoming dividends show on the Dashboard?
When you have broker holdings with an ex-date or payment date in the next 30 days, the Dashboard shows an Upcoming Dividends card. Open it to jump to Trade Tracker → Dividends.
